Gray TV
STREAMING BEFORE NETFLIX WAS A THING…
This isn’t the first pirate TV station I’ve built… Year’s earlier I built Gray FM, a pirate radio station. And this was naturally the next progression.
It has dials and lights and a rocket switch, all of the key ingredients for a great project. The next progression from radio is of course, TV.
Broadcasting TV signals (UHF / VHF) is quite a tricky thing to do, so the job of broadcasting was done from a hacked apart transmitter. The device had amplifier, audio mixing, playback control, multiple input and heaps of switches and LED’s, because LED’s are awesome.

LOTS OF SWITCHES
I loveeeee switches, they are so much fun!!! And this front panel has so many! The switches on the left turn on each major items such as master on, transmitter, display screen, preamps and the kill switches. And on the right are the audio kill switches – dials for volume control and cross-fader with master kill switch.

FOUR CHANNEL MIXER
With 3 Audio/Video inputs, there is a 3 level along with a master level. The big dial is the input selector (both video and audio) and the cross-fader allowed for transitions. Each channel has independent kill switches

CRAZY LOOKING BOX
A pirate TV station could only be built inside a crazy looking box!!!
